Christmas Scarf

Gosh its been forever since I posted anything crafty! I do have my Christmas Card that I was to share but I have to get a picture of it. In the meantime, I’ll share a different project.

We went on a three night Disney Cruise in December with a bunch of family members. It was a lot of fun! It was the new ship, the Dream, which was gorgeous. See?

So how does all this tie into crafting you ask? All the cast members wore red and white stripped scarves. They were super cute! Though a bit odd considering we were on the beach in bathing suits 🙂 Anyway, my mother-in-law mentioned that she always wanted a red and white scarf and even asked if they sold them anywhere on the ship. They didn’t. I thought about asking my mom to whip one up for my to give her for Christmas. My mom is a much better and faster crocheter than I am. I know a few things but not much. I decided I’d try it instead and see what I came up with. First I attempted to use Homespun yarn because I like it a lot…but its a real pain to work with to so I put it aside. I found a different pattern (once I locate it online again I’ll link it) and went to work.

Here’s the final project

I didn't think to take a picture until AFTER I gave it to her!

I love the way it turned out!

The pattern was super easy, which is fabulous when you attempt such a project the week of Christmas 🙂 It’s a bit larger than I originally wanted but I like it anyway. I am really happy with the way it came out!

I’ll get the Christmas Card up as soon as I take a picture of it 🙂
